Summary. Scana does not collect your data. No account, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party tracking. Scans are processed on your iPhone and stored on your iPhone — and, if you enable it, in your own private iCloud. The developer has no servers and cannot see or recover your documents.

What we collect: nothing. No collection, transmission, sale, or sharing of personal data. No analytics or ad SDKs, no third-party trackers.

What stays on your device. Scanned documents and generated PDFs, OCR text (for on-device search), QR/barcode history and generated codes, folders, titles, settings, signatures. All scanning, OCR, PDF creation and AI file-name suggestions run entirely on-device.

iCloud sync (optional). Syncs through your private iCloud (CloudKit private database). Not on developer servers, developer has no access, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Can be turned off in Settings.

Vault. Vault documents live in a separate device-only store, are never synced to iCloud, and moving a document into the Vault removes it from iCloud sync including other devices. Gated by Face ID. Honest caveat included: Vault provides access control and keeps files off iCloud — it does not add separate file encryption beyond iOS's own app-data protection.

Network access. Exactly one optional feature: QR link checking (follows redirects to show the real domain before you open it). Only the URL is sent, nothing about you; disableable in Settings. Plus user-initiated actions that leave the app (opening a link, "Search online" for a barcode).

Permissions. Camera (on-device processing), Photos add-only (saving a generated QR), Face ID (Vault only), Contacts (system new-contact screen, app doesn't read contacts), Wi-Fi Hotspot Configuration (credentials passed to iOS). No location.

Purchases. One-time purchase handled by Apple; developer never receives payment details.
